Clay offers timeless adventures with so many amazing pieces to be made.  Join Jacy for this 19 week clay club adventure to embark on a clay journey that will be fun, educational, hands-on, and masterpieces will be made. These 19 weeks have been split into different clay themes and can be registered to do each one individually or SAVE BIG by registering for the entire 19 weeks.
 
*Bus Transportation is available from the Elementary School to the Middle School where an Art Hub Staff Member will meet the kids and walk them over to Art Hub for class.  Please indicate if you plan on taking the bus.

Session 1: FAIRY LAND: (5 weeks)
To get us introduced to clay we will start by making our own fairy house door.  Students will learn how to roll out slabs and then use their slab to create their very own whimsical fantastical door. We will use our slab making skills to spend 2 weeks working on creating a fairy house! The last week of handbuilding we will make our own little miniature buildings/homes creating their own little neighborhood.  The last week of class we will spend glazing all the pieces made! All supplies are included in cost and can be picked up 2-4 weeks after last class.

Session 2: IT'S A SLAB WORLD: (5 weeks)
Slabs are used SOOO much in pottery! This class we will further explore the slab and all that we can do with it. First week we will start with something super fun and create our own 2D clay picture!  We will make slab pocket wall hangings, slab animal wall hangings, and a tic-toc-toe plate/board. The final week will be used for glazing all the pieces. All supplies are included in cost and can be picked up 2-4 weeks after last class.

FUNCTIONAL WARES: (5 weeks)
This session focuses on making functional pieces that are food safe and can be used in your everyday life.  We will learn about the pinch pot method, continuing learning more about slabs, and be introduced to using the coil method.  We will create spoons, bowls, plates, mugs, and cups. During the last week we will glaze everything. All supplies are included in cost and can be picked up 2-4 weeks after last class.

COILING GOOD TIME: (4 weeks) 
Ending this course with a bang we are going to take all our skills we have learned and combine them with the coiling method to create a coil heart project and spend 2 weeks designing and creating a large decorative coil pot. The last week will be used for glazing.  All supplies are included in cost and can be picked up 2-4 weeks after last class.
